The first Battle of the Three Mountains was fought from 28 to 31 January 1918, while the second battle took place on 30 June 1918. Two reasons: one of a military order, the recapture of a larger space in which Italian troops could maneuver, therefore no longer forced between the enemy and the overhang of the Brenta Valley; and one clearly of a moral order, pushed the Italian Supreme Command to a certain accuracy of preparation of the offensive. The grassy humps north of the Col del Rosso, and near Casera Melaghetto, are still pierced by thousands of craters. It was probably the biggest field artillery battle of World War I.EnvironmentalTypical rural environment with alternation of woods, pastures and huts.Quote: info@guidealtopiano.com - 340 7347864
