Historian

It was the first victory after CaporettoItalian army offensive. The first battle of the Tre Monti was fought from January 28 to 31 1918 while the second battle took place on 30 June 1918. Two reasons: one of military order, the reconquest of a larger space in which Italian troops could handle no more then forced between the enemy and the overhang of the Val del Brenta; and one clear of moral order, pushed the Italian high command to a certain accuracy of preparation of the offensive. The grassy humps North of Col del Rosso, and near Casera Melaghetto, are still punctuated by thousands of craters. It was probably the biggest battle field artillery of World War I.
